So, this is the new year.
One of my resolutions for 2012 was to blog more. So much for that.
That’s a goal for the weekend I suppose.

The thing is...
I really like showering at the end of a long day. It’s like you can feel yourself shedding off the day.
Then, total relaxation will soon follow.

I went camping in the woods this past weekend.
There aren’t many things better than being in the middle of nowhere and hearing complete silence, letting the cool night air run over your skin.
Waking up outside with the sun is something everyone should do.
It’s as close to a religious experience as I’ll ever get.
One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. “Which road do I take?” she asked. “Where do you want to go?” was his response. “I don’t know,” Alice answered. “Then,” said the cat, “it doesn’t matter.”

1) Taught my dog how to pull me on a skateboard. It was awesome. He can really haul ass.
2) Got a wristband to SXSW!
3) Cooked an awesome dinner
4) Paid bills.
That’s enough productivity for me for the night. Time to chase the blues with some green and wail on the guitar.
C'est bon.
I am SO glad that I came home for Mardi Gras. I’ve only been home 12 hours and it’s been SO much fun. It’s like I get to see all the people I used to hang out with all at once. It’s like we never skipped a beat. And all the San Marcos/Austin kiddos seem to be having a good time too. Although, they do seem to find some of our customs to be… weird so to say.....

Oh, the wonder.
“They say that every snowflake is different. If that were true, how could the world go on? How could we ever get up off our knees? How could we ever recover from the wonder of it?” – Jeanette Winterson
I read Lance Armstrong’s biography the other day. Let me just say that it was one of the best books I’ve ever read. Lance is definitely an inspiring person.
In his book, he talked about his religion. I couldn’t agree more.
“Quite simply, I believed I had a responsibility to be a good person, and that meant fair, honest, hard-working, and honorable. If I did that, if I...
Well,
that’s that I suppose.

I don’t normally listen to/enjoy “modern” country music. And by “normally” I really mean “never.” But Goddamn, Randy Rogers hit the nail on the head on his last CD.
The best slogan ever...
goes to Henry Repeating Arms Company:
“Henry rifles will only be made in America or they won’t be made at all.”
That’s awesome. It has a very “For God and country” feel to it.
I love grassroots America.
Oh, the places you'll go.
“You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed. You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest. Except when you don’t. Because, sometimes, you won’t. I’m sorry to say so but, sadly, it’s true that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to...
"If you want to be happy, be."
The past couple of weeks have been less than pleasurable. I let things build up. I lost perspective.
Luckily a snowstorm hit. It caused me to miss a day of work and stay hunkered down in my apartment with just my guitar, my dog, and my roommate and her boyfriend. It was just what I needed.
Sometimes, I think we allow ourselves to get in the way of our own happiness. I think we let all the...
Hello, Mother Leopard...
I have your cub. You must protect her … but that will be expensive. Ten thousand cola nuts, wrapped in brown paper. Midnight, behind the box. I’ll be the Hyena … you’ll see.

This has been
one of the worst weeks that I have ever endured. I can’t even begin to explain it.
At least I have something super awesome to look forward to in the morning!
So it goes.
I finally finished Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle. Talk about a good book. Everyone should read it. I’d really like to read Sirens of Titan but since I don’t have it, I suppose I’ll settle for Breakfast of Champions.
Today I started exercising. That was a good idea. I feel awesome.
I called my grandparents today. I was telling my grandpa about life and how confused I...
Now this man down at the used car lot Tried to sell me four wheels and a trunk. I said, “Man, there is no engine!”, He said, “The engine’s just a bunch of junk. You don’t need no engine to go downhill And I can plainly see, that that’s the direction You’re headed in.”, and he handed me the keyes.
P.S. - Told you so. →
I realize that some things I believe are silly.
Like the fact that aliens helped out some ancient cultures to help speed along the development of the human race.
Or that R. Buckminster Fuller was right when he engineered a plan to develop every country in the world just by adjusting the power grids.
Or that one day, Democrats and Republicans can put aside their differences to promote the...
I guess I just wasn't made for these times.
I’m too young to feel this old. This past week has really taken a toll on me, both physically and mentally. My life needs an overhaul.
Sometimes I feel like I would be really good at things if given the opportunity. I suppose there are cartain things we’re just not supposed to know.
I almost forgot how good the album Stay What You Are is. Thanks, Saves the Day, for a stellar record.
Well, that was a long week. But, I made a promise to not complain. So I won’t. I do hope this week is better though.

As we all know, today marks the 50th anniversary of the delivery of J.F.K.’s inaugural address. It is widely regarded as one of the best 100 speeches of all time. I’ve taken several oral and performance based classes, so I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about.
It’s a beautiful piece, but one section stands out to me more than others:
“The world is...

I just typed the longest post ever. All I did was complain about my job. Then I deleted it. I decided that I’m not going to complain (not even once) for at least one whole week. Hopefully longer.
Sometimes, I like the fact that we can’t take back things we say. I’m sure this opinion will change the next time I place my foot in my mouth.
I have a very “stream of...

…that I even had a tumblr. Guess I’ll start to use it. I’m not sure anyone follows me. They have no reason too (since I never update.) I kinda like it that way.
Yesterday, I purchased a new book, Green Living: the Handbook for Living Lightly on the Earth. I’m not too far into it, but it sure is captivating. It’s a great book for those looking for a way to get into...

The boys of summer.
Thus far, summer has been fantastic. I have experienced about every emotion one could have. Happy. Sad. Understimulated. Overwhelmed. Bored. Anxious. And has all been a lot of fun. I have been hanging out with all my best friends and man have I seen some funny shit. This is the kind of summer that legends are made from.
But mostly, this summer has been a most unique one for me. Firstly, it is the...
